Launches Online Workshop for Housing Element Update

The City of Santa Barbara’s Housing Element Update is underway and community involvement is encouraged. The City’s 2023 Housing Element will include goals and actions to create new housing opportunities, prioritize affordable housing, preserve and improve existing housing, support regional cooperation to improve the jobs/housing balance, and continue to engage and educate the public on housing issues that affect our community. You can keep up to date on this project and learn more about the Housing Element Update with our online engagement tool, which will be open throughout 2022. Please register to participate in one or more of the following activities over the summer:

·         Workshops and surveys

·         Notifications of public workshops and hearings

·         Review and comment on draft Housing Element Update when released

Information gathered from this online engagement tool will be shared with the City Council and help guide new housing policies and programs. The City is excited to continue to use this online outreach tool to engage community members on many topics and keep residents informed about major work efforts and special projects.

¡La actualización del elemento de viviendas de la ciudad de Santa Bárbara está en marcha y queremos que participe! El Elemento de Viviendas 2023 de la Ciudad incluirá objetivos y acciones para crear nuevas oportunidades de vivienda, priorizar viviendas asequibles, preservar y mejorar las viviendas existentes, apoyar la cooperación regional para mejorar el equilibrio entre trabajos y viviendas, y continuar involucrando y educando al público sobre temas de viviendas que afectan nuestra comunidad.

Manténgase actualizado sobre este proyecto y obtenga más información sobre la Actualización del Elemento de Viviendas en nuestra herramienta de participación por internet, que estará abierta durante 2022. Regístrese para participar en una o más de las siguientes actividades durante el verano: 

·         Talleres virtuales y encuestas

·         Notificaciones de talleres públicos y audiencias

·         Revisar y comentar el borrador de la Actualización del elemento de viviendas cuando se publique

 La información recopilada de esta herramienta de participación por internet se compartirá con el Consejo Municipal y ayudará a guiar nuevas políticas y programas de viviendas. La Ciudad está emocionada de continuar usando esta herramienta de divulgación por internet para involucrar a los miembros de la comunidad en muchos temas y mantener a los residentes informados sobre los principales esfuerzos de trabajo y proyectos especiales.
