Emergency crews responded to a traffic collision in Santa Barbara on Cathedral Oaks Road near the Highway 154 on-ramp early Tuesday morning that required first responders to free at least one person from a vehicle.

The incident occurred near the intersection of Via Chaparral shortly before 2 a.m. on June 16. Pulsepoint recorded a large Santa Barbara County Fire response beginning at 1:43 a.m.

An Edhat reader who witnessed the scene reported seeing first responders working to extricate someone from a single vehicle involved in the crash.

“There was a late night crash involving one vehicle on Foothill near the 154 this morning around 2 a.m.,” the reader wrote. “First responders were working to free someone from the vehicle.”

The incident was cleared approximately one hour later at 2:45 a.m.

There has been no official report on the extent of any injuries or additional details about what caused the collision.
