Kitchen Fire at Far West Tavern

Santa Barbara County Firefighters responded to a kitchen fire at the Far West Tavern in Orcutt.

Crews responded around 12:00 p.m. Saturday to 300 East Clark Ave. Initially, a fire was not seen in the building until crews went into the kitchen and found a fire burning within the hood system.

The fire was determined to have started in the hood pit and the hood system activated and extinguished the fire.

The fire did not spread to other parts of the building. There were no injuries and the exact cause is under investigation.

Fire crews remained on the scene to clear the rest of the building.
