Legendary singer-songwriter, and Santa Barbara resident, Kenny Loggins is asking President Donald Trump to stop using his music in a controversial video posted on social media.

On Saturday evening, Trump posted a fake A.I. generated video to his Truth Social account depicting the president wearing a king’s crown in a fighter jet labeled “King Trump.” The plane is then seen flying over protestors in an American city and dumping a brown liquid which is likely meant to represent fecal matter on the crowd that’s carrying American flags and signs.

The music playing over the video is Loggins’ 1986 hit from the movie Top Gun, “Danger Zone.”

The video is widely speculated to be Trump’s response to the massive “No Kings” rallies that took place throughout the United States, including Santa Barbara and the Central Coast, earlier on Saturday.

Loggins released a statement Monday morning stating Trump’s video is an unauthorized use “Danger Zone” and nobody asked for Loggins’ permission, which he said he would have denied. He is requesting that the recording on this video is removed immediately.

“I can’t imagine why anybody would want their music used or associated with something created with the sole purpose of dividing us. Too many people are trying to tear us apart, and we need to find new ways to come together. We’re all Americans, and we’re all patriotic. There is no ‘us and them’ – that’s not who we are, nor is it what we should be. It’s all of us. We’re in this together, and it is my hope that we can embrace music as a way of celebrating and uniting each and every one of us,” Loggins stated.

National Public Radio (NPR) first reported the story and stated that it reached out to the White House for a response and White House spokesperson Davis R. Ingle replied with image from the movie “Top Gun” captioned: “I FEEL THE NEED FOR SPEED.”

  1. Loggins should have his attorney send our President a ten-billion dollar invoice for the unauthorized use of his artistic work.

Of course, Drumpf’s indictments of his enemies, and other theatrical stunts, are successful in pushing his association with sexual abuser/pedophile Epstein off the news-cycle, his true goal.

What I fail to understand, is how the Christian-right can support such an immoral criminal who is destroying our noble nation at the direction of Putin.

Trump had Mnuchin change the IRS regs so tax exempt churches, organizations etc could filter foreign moneys to him without detection.: https://pic.twitter.com/coXjf0RUJe

  2. This is exactly the type of distraction Trump uses to make people fall for “it” time and time again. A 40-year-old pop song used in a disgusting manner to divert attention to real problems. They used to say, “Don’t sweat the small stuff,” but now it’s the small stuff like using an old song in an AI-generated video that is driving people koo-koo-for-Coco-Puffs. Get a grip peeps.

    • BEES – what mouthwash to you use to get the taste of leather out of your mouth?

No one is going “koo-koo” over this, it’s just another on a exhaustive list of the childish and unlawful things your leader is doing. This could very well be grounds for a lawsuit that guess who (YOU and I) will be paying for.

Every instance of immorality, illegality, and overall examples of his lack of maturity and mental fitness for the most powerful jon on earth, must be categorized. One day, and my God I hope it’s soon, this pile of hate will be held accountable. We can’t just ignore it.

NO ONE is distracted from our mission.

    • And Bees – regarding distractions, there is too much focus on the demolition of the White House and building the new ball room. The real story is what is under the east wing, where the ballroom will sit. The ball room itself is a distraction for upgrading the emergency operations bunker underneath (originally built by FDR). This is where Trump will recluse once he calls off the mid-term elections.

      Also, release the Epstein files.

You voted for these shenanigans and you support them now. You are the perfect Project 2025 supporter.

      • Bees – you are telling people not to go koko puffs or focus on this story, yet you have gone cocopuffs and are directing people how to feel about this story and using incomplete sentences. A normal reaction would be not to react at all, if YOU were truly interested in not inflating a story.

      • He doesn’t want money, BEES. He wants it removed. Good people don’t want their hard work, creativity, time and/or money associated with the slime ball you defend here 60 minutes an hour, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

        Again, NO ONE is distracted.

Focus on what? Some other outrage we can’t do anything about? That’s the point. All we can do is memorialize each and every offense to law and human decency he carries out. Sadly, nothing will stop him or his vile supporters from doing these things.

        Keep chewing that leather.
