Keep Calm and Carry On

By an edhat reader
Saw this Marquee at the Arlington on Friday. So Perfect blending message to pre-WW2 Britons with our own current 'war' on Covid-19. Clever of whoever made that connection, and the OK with Arlington management. Kudos! We laughed in delight!
en wiki: Keep Calm and Carry On was a motivational poster produced by the British government in 1939 in preparation for World War II. The poster was intended to raise the morale of the British public, threatened with widely predicted mass air attacks on major cities.

Mar 22, 2020 11:22 AMGreat catch Taz! I have a coffee mug with the old "Keep Calm..." motto on it. Maybe I'll start using that one for the duration. Perhaps with a sticker with the Arlington addition. :D

"mustn't grumble".

Mar 22, 2020 11:15 PMOne of the ways I'm keeping calm is to be careful reading comments on Edhat. Some ppl seem to want to stoke panic by posting awful things. We all know how bad this virus is - and if someone doesn't know to distance or stay home by now they are hopeless. It is not the time to induce more fear and darkness by describing medical cases, things like that. We need to maintain hope because what is going to come is going to come regardless at this point. Stay well and stay safe people. One day this will be over. And we pick up the pieces from there.

Mar 23, 2020 12:00 AMYes! Help, respect, share solid info and spread smiles - the positive contagion of humanity. One act of kindness can spread to brighten the day of hundreds. Thanks to Taz we have (so far) this relaxing little corner of Edhat.
