Jimmy Michael Ontiveros

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Jimmy Michael Ontiveros passed in the late hours of Thursday, October 5th 2017 due to cardiac trauma. Jimmy O, as he was called by his friends, was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on January 30th, 1958.

A true Santa Barbarian, Jimmy attended Jefferson Elementary, Santa Barbara Junior High and Santa Barbara High School, spending his time practicing karate on the beach, surfing, and racing his 1969 Camaro in one of Santa Barbara’s hot rod clubs. In his early twenties, Jimmy began honing his craft and became one of the best known privately contracted carpenters in Santa Barbara. A career lasting more than three decades, Jimmy worked on many homes in the city as well as well known landmarks such as La Cumbre Plaza and the Circle Bar B Guest Ranch.
