It's National Coffee Day, Take Our Coffeeshop Poll

By the edhat staff
September 29 is International Coffee Day and we're celebrating the magic elixir that give us energy every morning.
Americans drink 400 million cups of coffee a day, and based on the number of coffee shops in town, Ed is guesstimating that many of those cups are consumed here.
Coffeeshops have become much more than just places to get hot bean water, they're meeting spaces, study hubs, and launching pads for burgeoning writers.
Vote on your favorite local coffee shop below, and we didn't include it, feel free to speak your mind in the comment section (we know you will anyway).

Sep 30, 2022 08:43 AMI wonder how many other people think like me that coffee only tastes good in a china cup. Most coffee shops only serve drinks now in paper cups. I only get my cappucinos where I can get a real cup.

Sep 30, 2022 08:19 AMI like the coffee (and vibe) at Handlebar on De la Vina, plus they have the most incredible almond croissant (I believe it's from Renaud's). I love Peet's, but unfortunately, after two servings I get the "pingüinos" (legs/buns pressed together as I "penguin walk" to the nearest loo!).

Sep 30, 2022 07:57 AMWhere's Bree Osh? Two locations: De la Vina and Coast Village Road. Also, Merci in the Montecito Country Mart. Renaud's is another one missing. Oh well, we are awash on good coffee options from Santa Barbara to Carp.

Sep 30, 2022 10:00 AMWhile great locations, those are technically more restaurants than coffeeshops.

Sep 29, 2022 02:23 PMThis is tough. Some spots have better coffee but not as great ambiance, while others have a really cool spot but coffee is just ok.

Sep 30, 2022 06:32 AMI agree completely. Caje across from the Arlington has that beautiful patio. But hands down best LOCAL coffee is Green Star. They don't have a shop, so I guess the best place to drink it is at my house.
