Injury Hit and Run Arrest in Lompoc

Suspect(s) : Mary Alice Brown, 67-year-old WFA Lompoc Resident

On 8/8/22 at about 7:00 pm, a 51-year-old female victim, a Lompoc resident, was walking in the parking lot of the 99-cent shopping center and was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle fled the area. A witness to the accident said the car knocked the victim to the ground and drove over her. Both of the victim’s legs and chest suffered trauma. The female was airlifted by Cal-Star to Cottage hospital due to her sustained trauma. As of 8/9/22, the victim is listed as critical but stable.

During the investigation, Mary Alice Brown was contacted and interviewed. Officers determined she was the driver of the hit-and-run vehicle and was not driving a motor vehicle while under the influence. Brown was arrested for 20001 CVC-Felony hit and run and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail.
