Injured Hiker Rescued on Cold Spring Trail

Source: Santa Barbara County Search & Rescue

Just after 12:30 this afternoon, SBCSAR, Montecito Fire and AMR responded to an injured hiker on the East Fork of Cold Spring Trail.

The hiker had a lower leg injury and did require the use of a rescue litter basket and litter wheel to be evacuated from the trail accompanied by fire and SAR personnel.

A Santa Barbara County Air Support helicopter had originally responded to the incident but was later returned due to sufficient personnel on the ground for a carry out.

All personnel were out of the field after an hour of being on trail and returned to service.
