An injured hiker was rescued from Hot Springs Trail on Memorial Day.
At 3:42 p.m. Monday, Santa Barbara County Search and Rescue (SBCSAR) responded alongside Montecito Fire Department and AMR ambulance to assist an injured hiker on the trail located in Montecito.
The subject was located approximately a quarter mile below the hotel ruins on the catway and accessed using off-highway vehicles (OHVs).
The hiker sustained an ankle injury and was treated on scene before being transported down the trail in a rescue vehicle. Patient care was transferred to AMR for further evaluation with ground transport to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
“This was another perfectly coordinated multi-agency rescue for the books,” SBCSAR stated on social media.
