Also emergency phones along the freeway at regular intervals. So you don’t have to do what I did when my old car died at 11pm, not near town, no cell phone. I hitchhiked and a BIG rig trucker picked me up fortunately. Those guys are the BEST !
Best to keep these things quiet… Bringing attention tends to ruin good things
We need more public phones. Remember Kidnapped children and others need phones to be rescued. Moreover, my iPhone 14 locked, froze on “Your Emergency Contacts Have Been Notified” at 4:30a this morning, when there was no emergency. My son in Miami Beach notified, as were friends in Ventura who drove up inconvenienced at 4:30a. I’m forever indebted to them for their response, and I’m angry at APPLe. My iPhone 14 was recharging at the time but was frozen. Can’t use my phone to call emergency contacts to say ‘false alarm’; can’t turn off the alarm notification. What do I do? Technology is problematic!!!!
Thought about where is there a pay phone? Do I go to the Sycamore Fire Station? iPhone is frozen, can’t be used, AT&T closed, APPLe Store closed, computer reads if frozen; to be reset by repair location. We need emergency public phones!
There are these things called land lines, and they almost always work.
(crickets) Thanks for trying, Greg!
