All lanes of southbound US 101 are now open in the Buellton area of Santa Barbara County following a traffic incident involving a big-rig truck early this morning.

The southbound lanes of US 101 are closed near Santa Rosa Road in the Buellton area of Santa Barbara County due to a traffic incident involving an overturned big-rig truck. Travelers are using the center divider to pass this incident.

Estimated Time of Opening: The southbound lanes are expected to re-open in two hours.

Hwy 101 South Lanes Reopen in Buellton

Drivers & motorcyclists choosing to dart in and out may be causing some of these semi accidents. Rig drivers can't brake their vehicle's forward motion fast enough to accommodate vehicles cutting in front of them without enough clearance.
