Two years ago we were lucky enough to have an Anna’s Hummingbird nest in an avocado tree in our backyard. I was able to photograph her nest building through to her two fledge.

TAGDES. Yes, thank you for pointing that out and for the i.d. I saw the cover photo and thought "What the heck? We don't have all green hummingbirds locally."

Did only one baby make it? Did you see the one poop before day 14? Very tidy! The picture of the bird at the feeder is not an Anna's.

Exactly, kind of weird to show a Green-crowned Brilliant, a Costa Rican hummingbird that has never been seen here for cover for a post. Kind of like "way back when". Nice video though.

Beautiful video. I love the decorative lichen on the nest, and it looked so soft inside!

Nice clear video, thanks. You were so lucky to have this in your backyard.

I am surprised that the chicks were able to go off on their own - it doesn’t look as though their beaks are full-grown! Than k you for making it and sharing here.

That was great. Interesting to watch the chicks’ beaks start to elongate as they get closer to moving out of the house.

My favorite part is the rainy soundtrack when the adult bird is sitting on the nest in the rain. Please don't tell me what happened to the second baby hummer, though. I don't want to know---unless you can say s/he made it off the nest okay.

Awesome! Just beautiful! (Check out YouTube for *hummingbird birdbaths*. They are such neat attractions for them!)
