How Can Locals Help in Montecito?
By an edhat reader
It's hard to reconcile the beautiful weather out here in Goleta with the utter devastation next door. And the pictures of missing children is just breaking my heart. Is there anything we can do to help? I'm ready to pick up a shovel and help look for people, but I know that's the last thing the sheriff wants. Still, is there something?

Jan 12, 2018 08:19 AMDonate money to Direct Relief. Designate it for the Montecito Fire and Flood Effort. Also, donate to the local Red Cross. Both organizations are using resources which must be replaced.

Jan 11, 2018 11:37 AMAn edhat reader reported the Red Cross Center at SBCC is not able to accept any more donations of their food, clothing, towels or anything. Food donations can be made to the FoodBank instead.
