On Monday, August 12, I was robbed of thousands of dollars from this person who stole packages UPS dropped off outside our gate.

The surveillance videos show a UPS driver dropping off the package at 5:23 p.m. in the Via Rosita area of Hope Ranch. The suspect drives by in what appears to be a dark-colored Chrysler 200 sedan*, spots the packages, flips around in the road and enters the driveway. The suspect appears to a blonde female wearing a dark hat and sunglasses with a black shirt and black shorts. She picks up the package and puts it in her car then leaves.

If anyone has information on this suspect or theft, please contact Santa Barbara County Deputy John Gruttadaurio at 805-681-4100 ext. 5105 and reference Case #19-10223.

Let’s catch this thief!

*Editor’s Note: The original article identified the vehicle as a “Tesla or another type of luxury vehicle,” but edhat readers determined this looks more like a Chrysler 200 sedan.

  1. That’s the problem with the older Rings with non-HiDef video, hence no chance of getting a license plate number or car type, etc. The newer Nest Hello or Ring Video Door Bell Pro has those features.
If you don’t have either, but love dogs, the route might be to have a hungry, rescue pit bull in its bed near the front porch during the afternoon delivery times.

  2. Even before finding this “porch thief” I’d think this homeowner would look for better way to have packages delivered. What’s the point of having high gates if your packages are left where anyone can get at them more easily than you can? It’s about as mindful as leaving a purse or wallet sitting on the dash of an unlocked car.

  3. Didn’t notice that at first but you are right, it appears she is wearing blue nitrile disposable gloves from the pics…Also after reviewing the video this car doesn’t appear to have a license plate on the front or back of the car. Its definitely a Chrysler 200 Sport.

  4. I saw her today in, Hope ranch on the main drag ( Las Palmas ) as you drive into Hope Ranch . 4 Police cars and her car . They were pulling out all her stolen stuff . She’s gotta be dumber the dumb . She had a folded up piece of white paper in an attempt to fool everyone like they used to put on your window after you bought a used car on her back window ( right side ) and no plates . She’s so stupid she doesn’t know that they’ll now give you paper plates with a number . Anyways i saw the whole ordeal . Glad this fleabag is caught . I’ll bet anything she’s not a Californian or local .

  5. We recently had a different delivery company deliver something at 9:45 at night, and leave it by our curbside mailbox. She was too lazy to walk it up the driveway to our front door. If my husband hadn’t seen her, the package would have sat by the curb overnight, or probably gotten stolen. Down in L.A., my niece posted a sign on her front door instructing delivery companies to toss the packages over the fence into the backyard, since she’d had things stolen off her front porch (obviously, she wasn’t ordering fine china!). There must be a better way!
