  1. Seriously. Milpas is so derelict with homeless and psychos at every corner and passed out on sidewalks. It’s gotten way worse in the last few months. Why is this? Our neighborhood has also gotten worse and the street is completely crumbling and uneven. This city is going down the tubes. It’s disgusting and incredibly hard to understand why.

  2. Something has to be done about the homeless population in this City. The condition has gotten worse than bad. Is this non-action by our City officials what all these tax dollars get us? We may have to return to the Old West & firm citizen posses!

  3. As mentioned every time this topic is presented, there IS a solution.
It was offered to city gov free of charge, but it was denied due to not being a profitable plan.
The city of SB receives large amounts of money to relieve our vagrancy issue, but as we can SEE, it is not used for such.
The reality is; that SB has thrown us all under the bus on this one..
    I’ll tell you this also:
There are absolutely no plans to correct the current situation.
“If it ain’t broke”…meaning, to rock the boat, is to affect the cashflow…

  4. I think you have to go to the current leadership in the SBPD. Based on what I read when the BOE informed fiesta egg vendors that they needed a resale permit, the city and SBPD had them back off since they were ” lower socio – economically, marginalized immigrants [read as ” illegal aliens”]. Maybe this guy was part of that group. Definitely socially and economically disadvantaged. Wake up SB our city is going to hell in a shit basket. The Dems running the city are spineless and afraid of loosing their cushy jobs by taking real action, not another study group. Or to paraphrase our newest council member, Oscar Guttered, the government needs to be governing all aspects of its citizens life. This guy definitely needs governing-may Oscar can put him up for a few months.
I’ve lived here for over 50 years, raised my daughters here, ran multiple businesses here and have never seen the city as bad as it is now. SAD

  5. FYI to the moderators, your comment submission is often quite broken on Chrome. You click and nothing happens, but the comment is actually posted to the site. Since you didn’t see it post, you click Send and Send over and over resulting in this mess.

  6. I read every comment on this thread. There are so many people that feel the same way about what is happening in SB and how we are going down the tubes. I was born & raised here and have never seen anything like it. I live near Ortega Park and I have to call the police every night because we have people camping in the park. There is no bathroom so nightly I was watch them do their business in the park. This park is right next to the junior high where young children will be starting school tomorrow and where we have homeless hanging out all day drinking, smoking both cigarettes and pot and dealing drugs. It’s disgusting. I walked over to the park the other night after PD had come and there were tons of cigarette butts embedded in the grass. Another issue is the AUD. We have no water and yet they are allowing building everywhere. If we all feel this way that city hall is doing nothing then it is time for us to mobilize and take our city back. Time to let these elected officials be reminded that we elected them to serve the citizens of this community not themselves especially Cathy Murillo.
