Work is Underway on the Hollister Class I Bike Path

Work began earlier this month in the Hollister Class I Bike Path project area (Hollister Avenue from Pacific Oaks to Ellwood School). The existing median has been demolished and a new irrigation system installed. Over the next couple weeks work the crew will continue working to make the median look aesthetically pleasing. The traffic control will stay in its current configuration through the end of June.

We are currently working with MTD to find temporary locations for the bus stops on the south side of Hollister Avenue for when the project moves into Phase 2 in July. More information will be provided once the locations are finalized.

You’re Invited to the Bicycle Pedestrian Master Plan Workshop

We are hard at work on the Bicycle Pedestrian Master Plan. This comprehensive, city-wide plan to promote public health, reduce automobile usage and fuel consumption, and promote transportation equity, will be having its next workshop on:

Wednesday, June 21
5:30 – 7:00 p.m.
Goleta Valley Community Center (5679 Hollister Avenue)

Residents are invited to come and hear results from feedback that has been collected through the survey, previous workshops and consultant research. Attendees will have the chance to provide feedback on design alternatives and treatments. There will also be the opportunity to learn about the upcoming Old Town Sidewalk Infill Project.
