The Santa Barbara Police Department has issued public notices regarding road closures due to the holiday storm this week.
S. Calle Cesar Chavez at Anacapa St.
The Santa Barbara Police Department has been monitoring potential flood areas related to the ongoing rain event. Sustained rain for several hours has led to two roadway closures. The First block of South, Calle Cesar Chavez, and the 100 block of Anacapa St. were closed around 2:00AM due to flooding.
Old Coast Hwy from Park Place to Hot Springs Road
Police have closed Old Coast Highway from Park Place to Hot Springs Road due to flooding. Please take an alternate route.
The Santa Barbara Police Department is continuing to monitor the storm and will advise of any additional closures.
Motorists are advised to please use extreme caution while driving, reduce speed, and avoid pooling water.

As of 4:25 a.m. in my area, between the Cater water treatment plant and measuring station at the transfer station/jail/Goleta road yard:
2.8″ in 12 hours, 2.5″ of it in the past 6 hours.
4 – 6 a.m. was exciting. It was about an inch an hour.

5″ at Goleta Road Yard (Foothill Rd at the dump/jail area)
4.4″ at the Courthouse
6.6″ at San Marcos Pass
