As a kid I was all set to learn how to swim in the Miramar pool with some giant bear of a man as a teacher. I remember the man was said to be able to hold his breath for three minutes. (The water in the pool was too cold and I ended up teaching myself how to swim at the kiddie pool next to The Cabrillo Rec Center.) Fond memories of the restaurant, restaurant staff and then, in later years, happily playing tennis and hanging out in the sauna at Miramar with friends. Oh . . .and Jacques in his red speedos, of course. A bygone time of a bygone era and sad that the blue roofs are all gone now. Glad no cars are allowed on the beach there anymore. Thank you for posting these great photos. Anyone recognize the women or child in that last photo?
