Highway 154 Reopens, Stagecoach Fire Progress Halted

Caltrans has closed Highway 154 at Highway 246 and Paradise due to the Stagecoach Fire.

Multiple resources are on the scene of a two to three-acre fire off Highway 154 near Stagecoach Road. 

At 11:23 a.m. Sunday, Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to assist the Los Padres National Forest west of Paradise Road on a growing brush fire, named the Stagecoach Fire.

Initial reports state the fire is 2-3 acres, but additional resources and air support jumped in to helpa there’s potential to grow much bigger.

As of 12:15 p.m., the Santa Barbara County Fire Department reported all crews, including help from the Montecito Fire Department, were making good progress as weather conditions are favorable. 

This is a developing story.
