California Highway Patrol (CHP) has closed Highway 154 at the SR-246 roundabout and SR-192 due to a brush fire that sparked Saturday morning.
Just after 8:00 a.m., CHP received calls of a small fire on the mountain side of Highway 154 near Stagecoach Road and Paradise Road.
Firefighters responded to the area as CHP ran traffic breaks on Highway 154.
Just after 9:00 a.m., the Los Padres Forest Service announced there are three spot fires all around 1/10th of an acre with a slow rate of spread. Los Padres stated they are able to handle the fire without added resources
Caltrans announced the hard closure at Highway 154 at the SR-246 roundabout and an additional closure on Highway 154 at Paradise Road. Another closure has been added at Highway 154 and SR-192/Cathedral Oaks.
Motorists are encouraged to use Highway 101 as an alternate route.
Highway 154 reopened in both directions at 5:00 p.m.
