Highway 101 Resurfacing to Begin Monday

A grind and pave operation along US Highway 101 in the Gaviota area will begin, Monday, April 23 in the following locations:

·       The No. 2 (right) lane of southbound US 101 will be closed from the Interchange with State Route 1 to the Gaviota State Park entrance on Monday, April 23 from 8 am until 3 pm.  The southbound Gaviota Rest Area will be closed during this roadwork.

·       The No. 2 (right) lane of northbound US 101 will be closed from Mariposa Reina to the Gaviota Rest Area on Tuesday, April 24 from 8 am until 3 pm.

·       The No. 2 (right) lane of northbound US 101 will be closed from the Gaviota State Park entrance to the Gaviota Tunnel on Wednesday, April 25 and Thursday, April 26 from 8 am until 3 pm.  The northbound Gaviota Rest Area will be closed during this roadwork.

·       The No. 2 (right) lane of northbound US 101 will be closed at the Gaviota Tunnel to the off-ramp at the State Route 1 Interchange on Friday, April 27 from 8 am until 3 pm.

Motorists can expect delays not to exceed 15 minutes.  This roadwork is being performed by the Caltrans Maintenance team from Buellton and Lompoc.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
