Highway 101 Construction Update Revised: September 15 – 28, 2024

Spotlight:  The Santa Barbara South segment has begun! Construction is starting with tree and vegetation removal along the freeway shoulders and median. Please expect day and night noise for clearing and chipping.

In Montecito, crews will continue installing underground supports (pile driving) for the new bridges. Please expect daytime noise during this work. Crews will also continue work on the new northbound lanes and off-ramp at San Ysidro Rd. The northbound lanes will remain divided by safety barriers between Hixon and Olive Mill Rds through summer 2025.

Landscaping continues in the Summerland segment. In the Padaro segment, crews will grind pavement to improve traction and provide additional longterm noise reduction. Grinding will occur at night; please expect night noise.
