At 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, I awoke to the sound of tires screeching and sirens screaming through Hope Ranch in what was clearly a high-speed chase.

After ten minutes or so there was the sound of a serious skid and a loud crash. Immediately after I could hear someone shouting "GET ON THE GROUND, GET ON THE GROUND!".

At 1:46 a.m. Santa Barbara County Fire Dispatch reported a "Vehicle Accident, Code 3 on Via Esperanza in Hope Ranch.

Maybe the perp could take a bus for 35 years. The behavior on a public road is akin to drunk and/or reckless driving. Where is the perp's humanity? Oh yes and much of the results of the "fun" at the public's expen$e. Thanks perp for disturbing the peace and the needless risk to any potential victims of your fun.

Laughing. I am embarrassed to admit it, but the tradition hails further back than that. 1966, and I'm sure further if someone else fessed up. I'd not do that again!

When I was in high school ( San Marcos class 79 ) we would race our supped up 240z ,Capri,Porche, like idiots. It was almost like a rite of passage to be chased by the SBSD or the Hope Ranch Patrol...(before SBSD had helicopters) I did stack one rig on Las Palmas and was apprehended by a lovely German Shepard named Gunther. I di gress. Glad no one was hurt. Now motorcycles and runnen from the Sheriff in Hope Ranch. Don't get me started. :)

Good. I hope the perp was injured so that s/he will carry a nice reminder of bad behavior-----a reminder not to be so stupid ever again.
