An 81-year-old hiker was airlifted from the Tequepis Trail on Wednesday after suffering a lower-body injury about two miles up the route, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
Crews were dispatched at 12:03 p.m. Fire helicopter H308 quickly inserted a firefighter/paramedic via hoist to assess and package the patient.
Both the patient and the medic were then hoisted back into the aircraft and flown to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment.
Officials credited the coordinated efforts of the department’s Air Support Unit and ground teams for delivering rapid aid in challenging terrain.

Helicopter rescues are becoming commonplace.
And?
For which anyone with a basic level of humanity is grateful.
BASIC – your constant crying is the only thing commonplace around here.
And how does that affect you in any way, shape or form? This is exactly what they are for.
Should injured and poisoned hikers just be left to die or should they, like you, just stay home and whine and moan on the keyboard all day about other people doing things that in no way whatsoever affect them?
Man up and stop your constant crying.
Ah…. it was the “B” word that did it LOL
