Earthcomb Cleans Up After Fiesta Events

Bravo to Andrew Velikanje and his Earthcomb crew, who came to a last-minute call on Friday from Heal the Ocean for help during the past three days of Fiesta.

They were out there every day scraping up confetti and other trash so all of it wouldn’t eventually get into the ocean.

Thank you, Andrew!

Heal the Ocean focuses on wastewater infrastructure – sewers and septic systems – as well as ocean dumping practices that have contributed to ocean pollution. They are focused on Santa Barbara County, but their methods now serve as a model for other coastal communities across the country. Learn more at https://www.healtheocean.org/

  1. I am happy that this has been taken care of, but why did they have to come in at the last minute? Did planners not fully cover the clean up of the event? Was this fully planned by Heal the Ocean?
The clean up should have been in the plans for the entire event. Perhaps I am missing something.
