A head-on collision followed by a vehicle fire on Highway 154 near Maria Ygnacia Lane resulted in traffic disruptions and minor injuries on Friday afternoon, officials report.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed the incident occurred at approximately 3:19 p.m., urging motorists to anticipate delays and seek alternate routes to allow emergency responders to access the scene efficiently.

Upon arrival, emergency units discovered one vehicle, identified as a white pickup truck, engulfed in flames. Firefighters and ambulance services were quickly on the scene to manage the fire and attend to the individuals involved in the crash.

Authorities have reported minor injuries as a result of the collision. At this time it is unclear how many people are injured.

Tow trucks have been dispatched to the area to facilitate the removal of the damaged vehicles and clear the roadway for traffic.

The CHP advises travelers on Highway 154 to expect delays continuing until the scene is fully cleared and deemed safe for travel. Drivers are encouraged to use alternative routes to avoid the area and minimize congestion, enabling emergency personnel to conclude their operations without hindrance.

The cause of the collision is under investigation, and further information will be released as it becomes available.
