Happy World Oceans Day!

The only supermarket I know for sure which recycles single-use plastic bags is the Ralph's at Magnolia Shopping Center. There's a receptacle for your plastic bags, at least. Not sure if they REALLY recycle what is received, though. The other day I picked up several plastic items off a local beach and stooped to grab a few other non-biodegradable bits of refuse off a track near a creek. At CVS, I picked up a plastic bottle cap and tossed it in the trash nearby. If everyone would carry a bread bag or some other bag and get busy, if only occasionally, picking up a bit of trash here and there, that would go a long way toward keeping junk out of our ocean. Think of it as protecting a dolphin or seabird and maybe even a sea turtle each time you bend down to grab a plastic bottle cap or potato chip bag or candy wrapper.
