Happy Valentine’s Day Edhatters!

By edhat staff

Flowers, chocolate, dinner, cards, hugs, and kisses. Today is the nationally recognized day of love. Sure, it might be a commercialized holiday, but there’s nothing wrong with expressing your admiration for the special ones in your life. Whether it’s a significant other, family, friends, pets, the beach, sunshine, or your morning coffee. Share your love and gratitude.

Now, we did mention it’s a commercial holiday and we’d be remiss if we didn’t look at the numbers, Ed’s favorite thing.

This year, Valentine’s day will likely look a bit different due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many people may also find their budgets more constrained. In fact, 98 million Americans expect their significant other to spend less on Valentine’s Day this year, according to a nationally representative survey conducted by WalletHub.

According to WalletHub’s 2021 Valentine’s Day Survey, 50% of people would rather get shot by Cupid’s arrow than the COVID-19 vaccine. Now that’s just reckless. What continues to be attractive is financial responsibility, 47% of people wouldn’t marry someone with bad credit and 47% would break up with someone who spent irresponsibly.

See all the numbers below.
