Halloween State

State Street on Halloween is always fun it seems, and this year was no exception for us. The family time around sunset is sweet even though the camera can barely manage. We like how it changes after dark too, but pix without flash are often grainy and blurry. Hope we'll see snaps others got this year around town (and I.V.).

Nov 01, 2018 10:42 AMI guess half of the kids go downtown, and the other half go to San Roque. Did anyone outside of San Roque get any trick-or-treaters? Are people hosting parties at homes now instead of kids going out to neighbors? I would appreciate young parents letting us know what your thinking is. Thanks!

Nov 01, 2018 12:20 PMmy group of 5 kids and i went downtown, from Carrillo to Haley on State. Many business gave out treats. The entire downtown neighborhoods and the west side neighborhoods were bustling with groups of kids and teens. At 9pm on San Andreas to Kowalski and Sola, I saw so many huge groups of kids and familes. It was amazing. I live downtown near the old Macy's building and in our neighborhood, at least every other home was celebrating. The kids I took out last night had two full grovery bags of treats, each and had walked about 10 blocks total. Success for sure.

Nov 01, 2018 03:43 PMThanks for that. Saw some neighbors out at 8AM this morning with a 5 gallon bucket full of garbage with plenty more where that came from. Maybe just stay in your own hood?

Nov 01, 2018 12:44 PMI agree with the other comment. wish there was a way for my neighbors to let me know if they are going downtown or to there neighbors. This year I didn’t get a single trick or treater. Extremely bummed after decorating the house and changing out my light bulbs. Already returned 4 bags of candy. FYI don’t buy mixed bags of “Halloween candy.” They usually can’t be returned but normal bags or snickers and skittles can be returned at full price.

Nov 01, 2018 01:43 PMWow, how disappointing after all your preparation and anticipation. If you do it again next year, post here on Edhat and we'll stop by. This year maybe everyone with leftovers should gather someplace to eat all the candy. :P
