Growing Brush Fire off Highway 166

Santa Barbara County firefighters are responding to a growing brush fire off Highway 166 at Rock Front Ranch.

At 6:14 p.m. crews arrived at the rural area east of Santa Maria with CalFire and discovered approximately two acres of brush on fire, with the potential to grow to five acres.

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department described the area as difficult terrain but there are no structures threatened. 

Air support units are on the scene dropping water on the fire. The cause is under investigation.
