Santa Barbara County Firefighters responded to a structure fire in Goleta on Friday night.

At 9:03 p.m., crews arrived in the 500 block of Somerset Drive and discovered smoke coming from the garage of a two-story home. It took crews less than 10 minutes to knock down the fire.

Two occupants and pets were safely evacuated prior to the crew's arrival.

Firefighters stayed on the scene to check for fire extension and to ventilate smoke.

The cause is under investigation.

Goleta Structure Fire Displaces Residents

Excuse me. I was quoting an online map, or I just spaced out, as I've lived in both areas. I imagine it wouldn't take much for scanner reporters to give readers a glimpse into the general area. I usually search the street names I don't know.
I'm just a civilian who very much appreciates the reports here.

Speaking of which, if anyone sees this, there were many sirens on upper State on Saturday, in the 4 p.m. hour, I think. Any info on that?
