Goleta Man Dies in Highway 154 Vehicle Rollover

On April 25, 2021, at approximately 12:35 p.m., a fatal traffic collision occurred just south of West Camino Cielo, approximately 8.1 miles west of State Route 154.  The sole occupant and driver, a 23 year old resident of Goleta, was driving a 2021 Jeep Gladiator off road when the collision occurred.  The Jeep was traveling in a northerly direction, toward West Camino Cielo, when the driver attempted to negotiate a steep embankment and the vehicle overturned.  The driver was unrestrained at the time of the collision and was partially ejected.  The driver sustained major injuries as a result of the collision and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The Coroner’s Bureau has identified the decedent as 23-year-old Jonathan Garcia-Bogarin of Goleta.

They requested air support to come however air support is taking the injured hiker call. Asking CHP and Ventura air support to respond. Asking calstar too

This is about 1-3 miles past the Winchester Gun Club on the dirt road of W Camino Cielo. Crews still can't get to the scene because they don't have 4x4s.
