Goleta Man Dies in Highway 154 Vehicle Rollover

On April 25, 2021, at approximately 12:35 p.m., a fatal traffic collision occurred just south of West Camino Cielo, approximately 8.1 miles west of State Route 154.  The sole occupant and driver, a 23 year old resident of Goleta, was driving a 2021 Jeep Gladiator off road when the collision occurred.  The Jeep was traveling in a northerly direction, toward West Camino Cielo, when the driver attempted to negotiate a steep embankment and the vehicle overturned.  The driver was unrestrained at the time of the collision and was partially ejected.  The driver sustained major injuries as a result of the collision and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The Coroner’s Bureau has identified the decedent as 23-year-old Jonathan Garcia-Bogarin of Goleta.
