Goleta Launches Local Shopping Campaign

Source: City of Goleta

The City of Goleta is encouraging our community to think local first when shopping, dining, or purchasing services this holiday season.  We are asking for your support to spread the word about our newly launched #GoodLandGoodShopping campaign. Our businesses are impacted as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and NOW is the time to do what we can to help them survive and succeed. Many of our Goleta businesses offer online shopping, shipping, home delivery and curbside pickup. Many also offer gift cards. These options are safe, easy, and fast.

City of Goleta Mayor Paula Perotte summarized why the #GoodLandGoodShopping campaign is so important.  She said, “Buying locally not only helps keep our businesses open but it also stimulates the regional economy, provides jobs, and helps ensure that Goleta remains an exceptional place to live, work and play.”

We are fortunate to live in a City that is home to a wide range of businesses with all kinds of quality and creative products and services to choose from! We are proud the Good Land has lots of Good Shopping that we can support this holiday season and beyond.

Here is how you can help promote this important campaign:

  • Hang a #GoodLandGoodShopping window poster up in your business. Volunteers will be passing out signs around town on Monday, November 30th.  You can also pick up a poster at the Goleta Valley Library (500 N. Fairview Avenue) Sidewalk Service on Wednesdays through Saturdays 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. starting next Wednesday, December 2nd.  Another option is to download the poster on our website at www.cityofgoleta.org/GoodLandGoodShopping.  We have a Holiday version of the poster you can choose from as well.

  • Send a photo of you and a Holiday Purchase/Recommendation from a Goleta business to us at PIO@cityofgoleta.org. We will share it on our Instagram (@cityofgoleta) and Facebook (@CityofGoleta) pages.

  • Share why you buy local (and how!) on your social media and use #GoodLandGoodShopping. You can find a #GoodLandGoodShopping graphic to use on social media at www.cityofgoleta.org/GoodLandGoodShopping as well.

Individuals and businesses are reminded to wear a face covering, maintain social distance, and follow all other State, County, and City public health recommendations when shopping and dining locally.

Thanks in advance for your support.  Remember when you choose Goleta, you choose community!
