June 21 is officially Fiesta Ranchera Day in Goleta! The announcement came this evening by Goleta Mayor, the Honorable Paula Perotte, who presented a Proclamation to Old Spanish Days Fiesta 2018 La Presidenta Denise Sanford.
Officials from the city, members of the Goleta Valley Historical Society, and Board members from Old Spanish Days, joined this year’s spirits and flower girls for the announcement and presentation before the Goleta City Council.
“We are continuing a tradition of honoring Fiesta as an important part of Goleta,” said Goleta City Councilmember Roger Aceves, a past Fiesta El Presidente. “For 11 years Fiesta Ranchera has been celebrated in Goleta.”
After the Proclamation presentation, Fiesta La Presidenta Sanford presented a framed 2018 Fiesta Poster to the council. This year’s poster and theme, “Celebrate Traditions”, are special pieces to Fiesta 2018, and were both selected by Ms. Sanford.
This evening’s event in the chambers of the Goleta City Council, also featured performances by this year’s Fiesta Spirit, Jessalyn Contreras-McCollum and Jr. Spirit Georgey Taupin.
This Thursday, June 21, Fiesta Ranchera will again take place at the historic Stow House at Rancho La Patera in Goleta. The historic site off of Glen Anne Road has hosted Fiesta Ranchera since its first year in 2008
Tickets for Fiesta Ranchera – an all-inclusive hosted popular tasting event featuring local vineyards, craft beer and signature cocktails, dancing and entertainment — are available for $65, and can be purchased at sbfiesta.org or by calling (805) 962-8101. The event runs 5-10 pm. Fiesta or Rancho attire is encouraged.
