Goleta Creek & Slough Construction?

Just wondering if any readers know what is going on in the Goleta slough/creek area. A couple weeks ago, some of the brush was removed near the bike paths that lead to Goleta State Beach. Then, on Wednesday ant Thursday, I saw cranes digging up some of the creek. I'm not quite sure the point and was curious to know.
As a bonus, here are a couple pictures: one that I thought was a little funny, found on the ground where the brush once was, and a picture I took just after sunrise in the slough! Enjoy!

Oct 31, 2017 08:27 AMIt's free because not because it's a county park but because we told the supes to stuff their plan to charge for access.
PS the airport will flood if the channels are not cleared. Same reason they use heavy equipment to breach the berm at the mouth of the slough.

Oct 29, 2017 10:25 AMThe rainy season is upon us so various creeks are being cleared to alleviate any flooding should we be lucky enough to get the rains. Just for future reference, Goleta Beach is a County Park, not a State Beach, that's why it's still free.
