Now is the time to find anything yellow you have in your closet and drink some lemonade!  It is officially Lemon Month in the City of Goleta.  Last night at the Goleta City Council meeting, the Council proclaimed September officially as Lemon Month.  Mayor Perotte presented South Coast Chamber of Commerce President Kristen Miller with the proclamation. The presentation also was a chance to welcome back the Goleta Lemon Festival this weekend September 24 and 25th to Girsh Park.

Besides being a blast, the event benefits dozens of local nonprofit organizations and celebrates Goleta's rich lemon-growing history. The City encourages local shops and restaurants to take part in the festivities by serving up lemon-inspired specialty items and treats.

We hope you will join us in the celebration, we can't wait to see YOU this weekend at the City of Goleta Booth at the Lemon Festival!

Since the 1950s the Chamber of Commerce has been the number 1 advocate for mowing down lemon trees (and any other agriculture) to replace it with development. Then they cherish the memory of it for profit. Kind of like the new development on Patterson, thoughtfully named "The Tree Farm", after what they paved over.
