Geyser Along Highway 101
By an edhat reader
There’s a geyser shooting probably 50 feet in the air alongside the freeway in the Milpas area. I am seeing it from miles away in the Montecito foothills.
1,500 gallons of water per minute. A pickup truck knocked over a fire hydrant at the corner of Milpas & Indio Muerto at 1:45 pm. Water going estimated 40’ up. @KEYTNC3 @SBPDPIO @SB_Police @SBCity #KEYT #SantaBarbara #SantaBarbaraNews pic.twitter.com/zbVuRHsmgE

Oct 07, 2020 03:56 PMOh boy, if you have brown water, this hydrant explosion pressure changes probably caused water main breaks. And we all know what happens when one main breaks, a nearby one will break next, rinse and repeat.

Oct 07, 2020 05:28 PMI heard there was an earlier break in Montecito that was before this.

Oct 07, 2020 09:08 PMSo whoever hit it does their insurance have to pay the city for the water and fixing the hydrant. I mean that is really bad driving.
