Montecito Firefighters responded to a structure fire on the 100 block of Miramar Avenue at 11:44 a.m. Thursday.
Gardeners working next door noticed smoke, ran over and sprayed water from the outside of the building. Firefighters arrived moments later and knocked it down within 10 minutes.
The fire was contained to the kitchen area of an approximately 400 square foot residential structure.

The two gardeners were evaluated for minor smoke inhalation and did not require medical transport. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Montecito Fire was assisted by firefighters from the Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District and Santa Barbara City Fire Department.
