Looks like Frontier has cancelled the Denver route from Santa Barbara’s Airport after November 12. Does anybody have any information on this?

If anyone from SBA or the airlines read this, the biggest demand for flights appears to be a direct flight from SBA to SAN. Yes, I know there is the train and indirect flights through LAX. But that is the number one flight that me my frequent flying friends grouse about.
Great! Less noisy polluting and low flying aircraft flying over Goleta, Noleta and the Mesa, the better. The plane traffic, private and commercial, has accelerated in recent years to nuisance levels. The planes leaving from SBA are expensive, often cancelled if not full, and result in a lot of locals taking the bus to LAX. Frontier won’t be missed.
1:29 – oh brother… don’t tell me you’re one of those who bought a house under the flight path and now want the airport to change it’s schedule and pilots to change their whole take off process and landing approaches so you don’t have to hear an occasional plane fly by?
I, too, would love to see a few nonstop flights to SAN from SBA. As it is right now, there are only 3 nonstops to LAX from here and the times are not very conducive for making connections unless you wish to wait for a long time.
American is the go-to-flight. Leaves 3 flights a day to PHX, which is a Hub airport for American…
What a bummer! I was just talking about those flights and how I wanted to get out there to Denver. It’s such a good deal. Probably was too good of a deal and not making money?
It appears all flights to Santa Barbara have been terminated after Nov 12. Minneapolis, Dallas, Salt Lake City all cancelled. Maybe airport construction, financial problems for frontier, contracts expired, or unfavorable winter weather ahead… They (Indigo Partners) just spent a ton of money on 134 new planes for frontier. They used to offer flights in the past before closing operations in 2015. At that time they said “ their aren’t enough customers who can fly to this city on a daily basis.” (Farebuzz) On May 1, KEYT-KCOY posted an article stating “The airline did not specify what business changes prompted a return to the airport.” Sounds like the honeymoon phase of the redeveloped airport is over.
