Good things about the 50s: Relatively uncrowded California. California public universities were essentially free to state residents. Public pre-college education. Freeways were effective. We could water lawns without guilt. The Good Humor man. Helms Bakery Trucks. Hopalong Cassidy. Cecil and Beanie. Top 20 radio on KRLA in LA (and KFWB). Frankie Lymon. Johnny Otis Show. The Everly Brothers. Stagger Lee. KHJ and The Million Dollar Movie. Free camping in state parks without reservations. etc etc etc

I really have a hard time understanding what UCSB academic value is achieved by this program? Shouldn't it be the Chamber of Commerce or some other business entity?
