A multi-vehicle collision occurred Friday in the 1300 block of Highway 154 in the Santa Ynez Valley, involving four vehicles and resulting in minor injuries.
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the accident took place at approximately 2:13 p.m. and blocked all lanes on the highway for a duration of time.
Emergence response teams, including two Santa Barbara County Fire Engines and a Battalion Chief, were dispatched to the scene along with the California Highway Patrol (CHP), two ground ambulances, and tow trucks to address the situation and assist the victims.
Four individuals with minor injuries were transported by ground ambulances to the hospital for treatment.
During the emergency response and preliminary investigation, the highway traffic was reduced to a single lane in both the eastbound and westbound directions to allow for movement around the scene of the accident. As of the latest updates, all lanes on Highway 154 have been reopened to regular traffic.
The circumstances leading up to the collision are currently under investigation. Drivers in the area were advised to exercise caution while the scene was active, and curb lane access was limited.
