Forward Progress Stopped in Jalama Brush Fire

Update by edhat staff

Santa Barbara County Firefighters have stopped the forward progress of a brush fire off Jalama Road.

At 2:15 crews along with supporting air craft responded to an area approximately three to four miles out from Jalama Road on the Cargasachi Ranch.

Crews found two acres of light grass burning at a slow rate of speed. During the response, the fire jumped the roadway and got into some heavier fuel prompting a more aggressive attack.

As of 3:30 p.m., the forward progress has been stopped.

Further information will be updated as soon as it’s available.
