Forward Progress Stopped in Brush Fire Near VAFB

Santa Barbara County and Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB) firefighters have stopped the forward progress of a brush fire on Highway 135.

At 1:15 p.m., crews responded to the area off Graciosa Road inside the base’s perimeter. VAFB fire crews were on the scene and were assisted by county firefighters and air support. 

The fire was held at seven acres.

There’s a report of a brush fire off Highway 1 and Highway 135, in between Vandenberg Air Force Base and Orcutt. It’s closest to Graciosa Road. There isn’t much information right now but units are dispatched to respond to the area.
