Former Supervisor Mike Stoker Heads to Election Front Line in PA

By John Palminteri of KEYT News

Former Santa Barbara County Supervisor Mike Stoker is in Pennsylvania as part of a team of lawyers on call by the reelection campaign to inspect any ballots with irregularities.   Battleground states have many legal observers from the Democrats and Republicans.

Stoker served in two different Santa Barbara County Supervisors seats, held a high ranking position with the Environmental Protection Agency and served under Bill Jones for two  years in the California Secretary of State’s office.

  1. Since repubs can’t win this election fairly with their ideas, they will try to steal it with the hanging chad factor. Lucky they just got a 6-3 majority on the Supreme Court and it will be 2000 all over again. Bush incurred 5 trillion in debt on the Iraq and Afghanistan wars- how did that work out? Motto of the Party of Trump, send lawyers, guns, and money.

  2. PitMix: I agree with you. The previous administration knew how to do things properly: “WASHINGTON D.C. — The Obama administration is acknowledging its transfer of $1.7 billion to Iran earlier this year was made entirely in cash, using non-U.S. currency.” Unfortunately, for many people, four years ago tonight was a disaster. Completely ruined their lives. How will people feel if the unthinkable happens again this time around? What’s the plan then? More violence? More hate? What’s the plan if “it” happens again?

  3. PITMIX: Bush isn’t running for President. Which of the two candidates currently running for President of the United States voted YES on S.J.Res. 23 (107th): “Authorization for Use of Military Force” on September 14, 2001, which started the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? I’ll give you a hint, he’s the Senator from Delaware (https://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=107&session=1&vote=00281).

  4. When Iran signed the multinational deal to restrain its nuclear development in return for being freed from sanctions, it regained access to its own assets, which had been frozen abroad. There was no $150 billion gift from the U.S. treasury or other countries. Iran was allowed to get its money back.
The $1.8 billion refers to a separate matter, also misstated by the president going back to before the 2016 election.
A payout of roughly that amount did come from the U.S. treasury. It was to pay an old IOU.
In the 1970s, Iran paid the U.S. $400 million for military equipment that was never delivered because the government was overthrown and diplomatic relations ruptured. After the nuclear deal, the U.S. and Iran announced they had settled the matter, with the U.S. agreeing to pay the $400 million principal along with about $1.3 billion in interest.
The $400 million was paid in cash and flown to Tehran on a cargo plane. The arrangement provided for the interest to be paid later.
In Trump’s telling, one cargo plane with $400 million that was owed to Iran has become “big planes, 757s, Boeing 757s,” loaded with a $1.8 billion giveaway.

  5. VOR, the power of the presidency has increased tremendously over the last few decades. They can write 100s of executive orders that have to be fought in court, take us to war without consulting congress, spend money on walls that was budgeted for the military, and so on. You don’t think this is a problem because Trump is from your party. But let Biden do the same stuff and watch the howling begin. https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/06/the-strangest-thing-about-trumps-approach-to-presidential-power/562271/

  6. VOR, Faux News and their minions consistently repeat Trump lies. MSNBC and the others you named rarely lie, and when they do unintentionally, they apologize. In terms of bias, a business magazine said Faux News and Breitbart were the most biased, with MSNBC coming in 3rd. Not a scientific poll , however. https://www.businessinsider.com/most-biased-news-outlets-in-america-cnn-fox-nytimes-2018-8

  7. CSF, very few people voted against that resolution. Bernie for 1. Lois Capps for another. All centrist and mainstem pols voted for it because they are afraid to be attacked by extremists for not being patriotic or tough on security. Biden has done plenty of things he needs to atone for, but I still trust his character way more than the current denizen of the really White House.

  8. I’d hate to be an edhat admin. “Edhat is too liberal, stop posting this stuff.” …. “Edhat is too conservative, stop posting that stuff.” You really can’t please everyone, but thankfully edhat doesn’t provide endorsements and stay unbiased.

  9. don’t be brainwashed by the main stream media and think MSNBC and others rarely lie and don’t have an extreme bias. Remember the media is a FOR PROFIT enterprise whose #1 priority is making money, NOT to accurately convey the news to you , i.e. not much more than entertainment.. The MSM and DNC have committed wrongs in their 4 year pursuit to destroy Trump (he does make it easy on them) then Trump ever did. Two wrongs don’t make a right, and so many have their “I hate Trump” blinders on and fail to see how the DNC, with the help of the MSM, are just as much if not more corrupt than the GOP and Trump. Don’t like Trump, that’s perfectly okay, but don’t be so naïve thinking the other side is the “right” side, the side of “decency”. That’s why so many cities have boarded up their businesses, in case the party of “decency” doesn’t get the results they demand out of this election.

  10. Duke, you bring up an excellent point: we are a Republic! So many people forget about that yet it is so important and a crucial factor in why the United States has been so successful and stable (yes, incredibly stable compared to most other countries) over the past 244 years. The President does not have nearly as much power as people think by design. We have the electoral college for a very good reason. The echo chamber that is coastal California regularly fails to appreciate there are 300+ million other people and 49 other states that don’t share their same views. There has been so much cry for “diversity” the past few years, diversity of race or sex, but no room for diversity of thought, which in my opinion is more important because your sex/race shouldn’t matter.

  11. I think the “T” in front of the third word in your user name fell off. To falsely equate the nefarious and inherent vehemence against the US Constitution so prevalent in the Republican Party (Cult of Cowards) is truly indicative of a welded-on custom set of blinders that allow us all to see that “T” in front of “reason”.

  12. Your hatred is clouding your ability to see clearly Pax. The DNC is just as full of corrupt career politicians as the GOP (both controlled by the same small group of oligarchs) and if you claim otherwise you need to take off those rose tinted glasses (or blue tinted in this case) .
