Monthly Giving Program Raises More Than $280,000 While Strengthening Community Partnerships to Fight Food Insecurity
The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County is celebrating the one-year anniversary of its partnership with Rori’s Artisanal Creamery, a collaboration that has helped power the Foodbank’s Foodbeats monthly giving program while strengthening connections between local businesses and the community.
Over the past 12 months, Foodbeats has generated more than $280,000 to support the Foodbank’s hunger-relief programs across Santa Barbara County.
Through the partnership, Foodbeats members receive an unlimited BOGO discount at Rori’s as well as a FREE scoop of ice cream just for signing up in store, turning everyday moments into opportunities to give back while supporting a beloved local business.
The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County serves one in three Santa Barbara County neighbors each year, operating the largest hunger-relief network in the region and partnering with more than 200 local nonprofit and community organizations to distribute food throughout the county.
At a time when Santa Barbara County has the highest poverty rate in California, programs like Foodbeats provide reliable, year-round support that helps ensure families and individuals have consistent access to nutritious food.
“It’s been one year since we partnered with the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County and we are happy to say this has been such a great experience for us as a business and as a chance to give back to our community. We’ve had so many guests that love both giving to FBSBC and getting a BOGO every visit. It’s a win, win for everyone! So, thank you Foodbank of Santa Barbara County for allowing us to participate.” – Rori Trovato, Founder of Rori’s Artisanal Creamery
The Foodbeats program was designed not only to create sustainable support for hunger relief but also to foster partnerships with local businesses that help bring the community together around a shared cause.
Starting March 16th, the Foodbank is expanding the Foodbeats network through new business collaborations. The program is launching a partnership with Bettina in Montecito and its sister business, Tina’s in Carpinteria. Foodbeats members will receive a complimentary dessert with a $50 purchase at either location.
“Feeding people is such an important part of what we do, and we feel that it’s essential to give back to our community in a way that nourishes those in need.” – Rachel Greenspan, Co-owner of Bettina Pizzeria.
Together, these partnerships help drive community engagement, support local businesses, and strengthen the Foodbank’s ability to provide food assistance to families across Santa Barbara County.
