Hard to tell - is it hanging from a crane or helicopter?

Crane. The boom is in the top right of the pic. Plus, a crane is expensive enough as it is. Doing it by helicopter would quadruple the price – assuming you could find a copter co that would do it.

That's nothing. I saw a flying whale as it was transported to Stearns Wharf. That was back in the days of ... wait for it ... film. I have the negatives somewhere, unless the garage mice nibbled on 'em.
