Flying over Palmdale and looking south at Los Angeles on Sunday evening.
Pretty at night.....
Looks much better than in the daylight.
I too have a somewhat unflattering idea of L.A. in my mind (and I grew up there). But I have been surprised at how many foreigners have told me how pretty L.A. is, with the mountain backdrop, many areas by the sea, the cleanliness (including the buildings), the parks and greenery, etc.
Nice photo. But hard to get bearings at night. Need some points of reference. ie 14 Freeway. Mall. Hwy 138. Edwards Dry Lake, etc. Not sure what the shiny object is at upper left. Court House? Major streets
run N-S and E=W. But even that idea looks like a theory at night. Lake Palmdale should be a dark circle. And Lancaster must be nearby. The Antelope Valley at night? Palmdale Airport. Sierra Hwy? And the
first Palmdale was in Palm Springs.
