Five Suspects Arrested for Narcotics and Firearms Violations

On 6/23/20 at approximately 1511 hours the Santa Maria Police Department responded to reports of a subject with a firearm at a business in the 500 block of North Broadway. SMPD Officers arrived on scene and detained the males without incident. During the investigation officers located two firearms, one of which was reported as being stolen from Southern California, and quantities of methamphetamine, prescription narcotics and marijuana.

All five suspects were arrested and charged with various narcotics and firearm-related charges including transportation/possession of narcotics for the purpose of sales, felon(s) in possession of a handgun and possession of a stolen firearm. All of the suspects were booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail. 

The suspects are identified as follows:

• Donelle Smith – 22 years (SM resident)
• Jonelle Smith – 24 years (SM resident) 
• Johnny Dewitt – 18 years (SM resident)
• Mason Talaugo – 26 years (SM resident)
• Mansa Evans – 43 years (resident of Guadalupe)
