Five Injured in Vehicle Collision Near Los Alamos

Santa Barbara County Fire Department is reporting five injuries in the vehicle collision near Cat Canyon Road.

When crews arrived on scene they found a “T-bone style” collision focused on the front-quarter panel of both vehicles.

There were three males and two females injured on the scene. Two patients sustained minor injuries and were transported by ground ambulance to Santa Ynez Cottage Hospital. Two patients sustained moderate injuries and were transported by ground ambulance to Marian Medical. One patient sustained major injuries and was flown to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital via Calstar helicopter.

A CalStar helicopter is en route to a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 101 northbound near Los Alamos.

California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports a collision took place at 12:07 p.m. Tuesday near Cat Canyon Road. 

There are approximately three people injured with witnesses stating a vehicle crossed over the line into oncoming traffic, according to CHP.

A CalStar helicopter is on the way with plans to land on the highway to transport passengers to the hospital. 

Traffic restrictions are in place.
